The Creation of a Hair-Care Dream
Working with her fund management and branding colleague of almost 20 years, Dato’ Jeremy Smeeton, Maya was introduced to his business partner, Mr. Michael Cheow, owner of the luxury hair and skincare brand C. Michael of London. Michael’s products have been manufactured in London and Kuala Lumpur since the 1980s and have also been successfully marketed across the United Kingdom, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Maya realized this was the perfect fit for her to develop her range of shampoos, conditioners, and serums. Infusing her intimate knowledge of local ingredients, she created the ideal haircare combinations with the support of Michael’s existing pharmaceutical and manufacturing team. The Malaysian-themed Rainforest Handcrafted range of hair products by Maya Karin was soon conceived and is now finally being brought to market.
